Financial report for Q2 / 2024

Background

Tuomas Airaksinen Consulting, company of the lead developer, is providing a way to sponsor AndBible development. You can support AndBible development financially via the webshop.

I am reporting in monthly basis the significant numbers in this google sheets document.

Q2 / 2024

During this period, the pricing for sponsored work was 60€ / hour + VAT (VAT is applicable only for EU customers). In the table below, I am summarising Q2 hours and as a comparison also earlier months. What I consider eligible as payable development hours is discussed in this blog post.

Observations:

• 👍May was very good compared to beginning of year. Biggest contributor to this was 3 larger orders (200-500€ each). There has been also number smaller orders. Because of this, I was able do some new feature development, i.e. Export & Import Study Pads and ability to import / merge databases.
• 👍I have been able to maintain AndBible by fixing bugs and responding to user emails.
• If the amount of support increases by time, I will be able to spend significantly more hours on developing AndBible

Breakdown of tasks (December 2023-June 2024)

In December, I started timing different tasks so that it is possible to analyze how the hours have been used. Here is the breakdown how paid hours were used:

In other words, in Q4 statistics look like this:

• Support (help.andbible@gmail.com email mainly): 5.42 hours = 15.5%
• Maintenance tasks (bug fixing etc): 14.57 hours = 41.6 %
• New feature development: 15.05 hours = 43.0 %

In addition to above mentioned paid work, I was doing unpaid work as follows:

• Youtube videos (Tips & Tricks), advertising, blog: 1.85 hours.

No more VAT (=value added tax)!

I learned in June 2024 that as long as sales in EU are below 10 000 € / year I am not required to collect VAT. So from now on sponsorship is VAT-free. In 2025, this limit will increase to 20 000 € as far as I have understood, but will confirm that later (if needed).

Earlier, VAT has not been collected for non-EU sales, but for EU sales VAT based on customer country has been collected (I have sent receipts manually).
